Helping with appliance needs for 40 years

Simon’s Appliance offers a variety of appliances and brands to fit whatever your needs are.

Pete and John Simon were maintaining laundry equipment in apartment buildings when they started exploring other business ventures. Then in 1975, they opened Simon’s Appliance store in Inver Grove Heights.

“That’s pretty much how it all started. Pete was doing laundry equipment in apartment buildings, and then ventured into the appliance business to keep everybody busy,” John A. says.

Today, Simon’s Appliance offers a wide range of top-quality appliances, knowledgeable sales staff and professional technicians who can service and do warranty work on everything they sell.

Karen V. says the servicing offered by Simon’s is notably different from what you’d get at a big-box store.

“To start with, when you call Simon’s you talk with an actual person. If you buy from a big-box store, you have to call an 800 number and then they are going to dispatch somebody to service you,” Karen says. “If you have a problem with any appliance you buy from Simon’s, our trained staff will do the service on it.”

Technicians at Simon’s have many combined years of experience and schooling, and take classes often to stay up-to-date on the latest appliance features and changing technology.

Simon’s Appliance carries a variety of refrigerators, stoves, cooktops, microwaves, washers and dryers, and more — brands include Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Amana.

Being a small business means Simon’s Appliance can offer that personal touch that can be lacking at big-box stores.

It’s that sense of continuity that customers appreciate. “You can walk through the showroom door at Simon’s and see the same person who sold you your appliance last time,” John says.

He encourages people to shop local at places like Simon’s Appliance. “Keep your money in the state rather than sending it out-of-state to the big-box stores,” John says.
