Roseville girls lacrosse goes 1-1 in sections

The playoff run for the Roseville Area High School girls lacrosse team lasted three nights even though it played only two matches. The Raiders' first-round contest against Visitation ended up spanning two evenings because of inclement weather.

After receiving a first-round bye, the Roseville Area High School baseball team found out who its second-round opponent is. The Raiders, seeded fourth, take on fifth-seeded Tartan Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Midway Stadium.

Mathwig, O'Neill named to permanent positions

After nearly a year of serving as "acting chiefs," Rick Mathwig is now Roseville's police chief and Tim O'Neill is the city's fire chief.

Mathwig replaces Carol Sletner and O'Neill replaces Richard Gasaway, both of whom retired last year.
