MnDOT to fix I-94 bottleneck on East Side


Commuters can expect a few MnDOT construction projects on the East Side in 2016. This map outlines MnDOT’s preliminary plan to expand a portion of Interstate 94 between East Seventh Street and Mounds Boulevard. MnDOT also plans to resurface a larger portion of the freeway road between East Seventh Street and Highway 120. (submitted graphic)

Grace Lutheran Church is welcoming the Rev. Karen Williams back to the East Side.
Williams, who grew up on the East Side and attended Harding High School, took up her new role this week as the head pastor at Grace, a prominent church building off of White Bear Avenue that is a familiar sight to commuters on Interstate 94.

A fresh face for La Palma

Expect a colorful change on Payne Avenue come October.
La Palma Supermercado, a Salvadoran grocery and café, will be getting a new mural this fall as part of a $38,000 façade renovation.

The West St. Paul Police Department has spent uncounted hours of overtime investigating the murder of Mendota Heights police officer Scott Patrick, who was killed July 30 during a routine traffic stop on Dodd Road near Smith Avenue in West St. Paul.
