Michael John Rubbelke, age 71, passed away on May 6, 2015.  An Army Vietnam veteran, Michael retired from his foreman position at Metro Transit (MTC).  Besides helping others, he enjoyed hobbies—painting, building telescopes, raising discus fish, and hand-raising tropical yellow conure birds with his wife and sons.

Michael is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ruth; sons Jesse and Cody; brothers John (Dee) and Richard (Lois); sisters, Margaret (Floyd) Larson, Marie Rubbelke and Colleen (Wayne) Mashuga; nieces and nephews Roy (Carol King), Pam (Tom) Vitulli, Dr. Jerry Jr. (Cheryl), Tom (Kathy), Doug (Cindy), Diane (Joe) Gerwood, Scott, Todd (Jody), Char (David) Jents, Jeff Larson, Lynn (John) Vilendrer, Scott Larson, Rick, David, Susan (Doug) Dickhausen, Lisa (Dan) Mashuga, Joe, and Jenny.

He was preceded in death by son Jake (Army), brothers Robert (Theresa) and Jerome (June), and nephews Gregory and John.

A memorial Mass will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 35th Street North, Oakdale, on June 23 at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow at Old Country Buffet, 3000 White Bear and Woodland Aves., Maplewood.
