Sheila Mangilaya (Fleischauer) Utech, age 37, of Hudson Wisconsin, formerly of South St. Paul, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 2, 2015.

Sheila was born on November 9, 1977, the daughter of Kevin and Lolly (Mangilaya) Fleischauer, in Zambales, Philippines. In 1978, her family moved to Minnesota, where she grew up and graduated from South St. Paul High School (Class of 1996). She later earned her associate’s degree in Small Business Finance from the University of Phoenix. Sheila was united in marriage to Chris Utech in 1998, divorced and reunited in marriage, by the grace of our Lord Jesus, on November 11, 2011. They were blessed with one son, Tristan, in 1999.

Ever since Sheila was a little girl, she loved to dance, enjoying tap, jazz and ballet. She was on her high school dance team and also participated in swimming, diving and track. Sheila enjoyed teaching dance and was an assistant instructor at Julianne’s Dance Center in South St. Paul. She also worked as a customer appeals manager on the Executive Response Team at AT&T.

Sheila had a strong faith in God, and was an active member of Cornerstone Church in Hudson, Wisconsin. She lived out her faith daily in her relationships and other people around her. Whether sharing the Word of God with those imprisoned, sharing a cup of coffee at the weekly women’s meeting or taking home first prize in the annual Chilifest, Sheila’s warmth was felt by anyone she touched. Even throughout her brave fight with cancer, her passion for Christ shined through to all around her. When asked about the legacy that she wanted to leave, Sheila stated, “Hope, because God is Good, God is Real.” Sheila will remain in the hearts of her husband, son, parents, and many relatives and friends.

Visitation and a memorial service for Sheila was held at Cornerstone Church on June 7, with a reception immediately following at Trinity Academy in Hudson.

Cremation Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, Wisconsin, or (715) 386-3725.
