Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf celebrates construction of new facility

Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf is hosting a Topping
Out party Nov. 7 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church located at 8260 Fourth St. N. in Oakdale.

A topping out party is a construction tradition, where builders recognize the placement of the last beam of a new building with a celebration.  As part of the ceremony, attendees sign the final beam and then watch as it is hoisted into place. This event is open to the public.

The facility’s construction has been supported by CCEFS’s Raise the Roof capital campaign. With support from area faith communities, businesses, foundations and residents, over 60 percent of the funds have been raised.  Parties interested in making a donation to the campaign can do so online at www.ccefs.org/raisetheroof.

The Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf is a non-profit that has been serving more than 2,500 people in the communities of Woodbury, Oakdale, Landfall and south Maplewood since 1983. To learn more about the organization, visit www.ccefs.org.
