FAITH: Benedictine Center events

The Benedictine Center hosts two upcoming events. 

“Solitude & Friendship: Developing an Alternative Script,” is a mini retreat for single men and women, will be held Tuesday Nov. 27 starting at 4 p.m. at the Benedictine Center. The session is designed to help singles sort out ëold scriptsí and reimagine what God is doing in their lives. Its led by the Benedictine Centerís resident scholar Dr. Barbara Sutton, a single woman who works extensively to help people express and practice effective community, and is living out the values she promotes. 

“School of Discernment” will be held Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Benedectine Center. Admittance costs $250, which includes lodging and meals. The weekend is for those waiting to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and how to pay attention to Godís movement in their lives. It also will help participants reveal patterns, grow in trust, and make better decisions. The weekend include sessions on the practice of discernment, reflection, quiet time and one-on-one conferences with a spiritual director. Led by Dr. Kathleen Cahalan, who is an author and  professor of Theology and director of Collegeville Institute Seminars at Saint Johnís University in Collegeville.
