The Minnesota State Patrol had to shut down both lanes of traffic on Highway 36 in Lake Elmo to attend to a semi that had crashed and rolled over June 18.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m., the State Patrol said in a tweet, in the westbound lane at Manning Avenue. Eastbound lanes beginning at Lake Elmo Boulevard and lanes headed west to Stillwater Boulevard had to be shut down.

The westbound lane was blocked by the overturned semi, forcing traffic to be diverted to Stillwater Road.

By about noon, state troopers were able to make way for eastbound traffic on Highway 36. The highway wasn’t clear for traffic in both directions until about 2 p.m.
