SNAPSHOTS: Dog days of summer

Small but mighty dachshunds were off to the races on Aug. 17 at Brightondale Senior Campus in New Brighton. Over 150 residents and community members came out to watch these fierce competitors run as fast as their little legs — and attention spans — could carry them at the community’s fifth annual “Dachshund Dash.” All entrance fees, as well as proceeds from concessions, went to the Alzheimer’s Association’s annual “Walk to End Alzheimer’s.” According to Brightondale, the center has almost met its $5,000 fundraising goal, thanks to the races and a June garage sale.
