District 621 informational sessions on proposed levy increase

On the ballot this fall voters will see a proposed levy increase for the Mounds View Public School District. With one of two voter-approved levies up for renewal, the district is seeking to combine the two into a single, 10-year levy and add an increase to account for inflation and help with operational expenses.

The district hopes the increase will keep class sizes low and fund mental health resources and career pathway programs for students. If approved, the new levy request would represent a $28 monthly increase in taxes paid on a median-valued home within the district. Overall, the levy increase would bring in an additional $12 million annually for the district.
