Tartan and Hill-Murray drop Metro Red games
The 2015 football season is rapidly drawing to a close as area teams played the seventh of eight regularly scheduled games Friday, Oct. 2.
The North High Polars are having their best season in years as they closed down a tough Hastings team by a score of 34-28.
St. Thomas Academy, meanwhile, outscored the Tartan Titans 39-8, and Hill-Murray lost a 56-44 shootout with the Simley Spartans.

Pioneers squeak by Titans, 2-1

Nathan Donatell was 'thorn' in Tartan's side

In a tight game between rivals, the Hill-Murray boys soccer team scored twice and that was all it needed for a 2-1 win over Tartan Tuesday, Sept 15.
The victory moved the Pioneers to 3-1-1 overall and to 1-1 in the Metro East Conference. The loss dropped the Titans to 3-4, 1-1.

North puts damper on Hill-Murray’s Homecoming

Rain that didn't let up made for a soggy Homecoming for the Hill-Murray players, students and alumni Friday, Sept. 18.
And the outcome of the game — a 9-0 loss to rival North High — certainly didn't improve matters for the Pioneers as they plowed their way through the mud for four quarters.

At the end of the 80-minutes of hard-fought play Thursday, Sept. 10, it was the visiting North High Polars who gained the upper hand in a 2-1 game with Hill-Murray.
