After serving with the Mendota Heights Fire Department for nearly 20 years — first as a firefighter and later as the lead fire prevention coordinator — Ronald Katzenmaier, 69, had to retire at the end of 2013.

Mr. Milton Clyde Gamelin, age 89 of Mountain Home passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015.
He was born in Minnesota in 1925 to Joseph Gamelin and Frances Grothe Gamelin. Milton graduated from South St. Paul high school in 1943, served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 until 1945 and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1949.

Emmett Sexton of West St. Paul recently received the Eagle Scout award, the highest advancement award of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of Troop 248, chartered by St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church of West St. Paul.
Julie Sinn, a 2012 graduate of Simley High School, has received the Talle Family Scholarship from the College of Arts at the University of Minnesota. Julie is the daughter of Trish and Mike Sinn of Inver Grove Heights.
