Parkinson's walk-a-thon is Sept. 30 at Como

The Minnesota Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association is sponsoring its annual walk-a-thon on Sept. 30 at Como Lakeside Pavilion (Black Bear Crossings), 1360 Lexington Pkwy. N., St. Paul. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. and the walk at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds from the walk will go to the support of research. Research is targeted at the development of safer, more effective drugs to treat Parkinson's disease as well as the ultimate goal to discover the cause and cure for Parkinson's disease. Every dollar raised will be used specifically to underwrite the costs of scientific research into the cause and cure of Parkinson's disease.

Parkinson's affects all ages. Most people with Parkinson's are over 60, but an estimated 20 percent are adults under 50. Approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson's each year. The Minnesota Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association is working hard to be part of the solution to finding the cure for this disease. Help us realize the goal for a cure by participating in the Walk-a thon. For more information or to register, call (612) 863-5850.
