| Payne painter |  | Mohammad Danami, born in Casablanca, hand paints some advertising signs outside the week-old Buy & Save grocery on Payne Avenue April 23. Fluent in French, Arabic, and English, he studied fine art and sculpture for seven years in Morocco, he said, adding that "the best artists in the world, they know me, I'm positive." He was painting the signs under contract for a friend in Minneapolis who owns a sign shop business.
