A graduate student in criminology and a doctoral degree in criminal justice have been arrested in connection with a series of mysterious murders in Idaho.

A month and a half after four University of Idaho students were found stabbed to death in their beds, investigators have arrested a 28-year-old criminology major who allegedly wrote the crimes. BBC.

Latah County Coroner Kathy Mapbutt said the four teenagers, three women and one man, were sleeping when they were attacked on Sunday, Nov. 13. The coroner revealed that they had been stabbed in bed.

The young women killed were former roommates: Madison Mohan, 21, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Rathdrum, Idaho; and Chana Kernodle, 20, of Post Falls, Idaho. Ethan Chapin, 20, of Mount Vernon, Washington, is Chana Kernodil’s boyfriend.

Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was arrested in Pennsylvania, 4,020 km from the crime scene.

Police said the suspect lived in a town near the scene of the murders.

Kohberger was tracked to his parents’ home in Albrightsville, authorities told CBS.

Prosecutor Bill Thompson said at a news conference that the man is being investigated for first-degree murder and four counts of breaking and entering. The suspect is being held without bail.

Officials confirmed at the same news conference that the suspect is a doctoral student in criminal justice and criminology at Washington State University.
