Alan Wake 2 is set to launch in October, according to an Alan Voice rep

Fans of the upcoming survival horror game Alan Wake 2 have been eagerly awaiting any kind of news from Remedy. While the game was announced a year and a half ago at the 2021 Game Awards, no concrete information has leaked from the Finnish studio, though Remedy has remained adamant that it will be released in 2023.

Today, we learned that Alan Wake 2 may be targeting an October launch. Although the news isn’t official, it comes from a trusted source: Matthew Puretta, the hero’s voice actor. Puretta, who also appeared in Control as Dr. Casper Darling, appeared In a video interview posted a few hours ago by YouTuber Monster, Madness and Magic.

At about the eighteenth minute of the chat, the interviewer prompted Buretta about Alan Wake 2, and he replied:

I’ve been working on it. This is supposed to come out in October, we’re in the middle of working on it right now actually I was in Finland last week, hence the company, Remedy, amazing people. I went and did a test run on this function 13 years ago in fact, it was Alan Wake’s birthday Sunday, 13 when it was released, the same day as Red Dead, I believe.

I walked in and auditioned, and six months later my agent called me and he was like “Hey, remember the video game you came out with” and I love you no, he’s like, he says “Alan Wake, I got it” and I go “Oh, what do I do in it?” And he said “Alan Wake.” I was like, “Oh, cool.”

I mean, 13 years ago my kids were young and video games were happening, but they weren’t on my radar at all. Now, 13 years later… man, I’m in this world. My son is about to graduate from college on Saturday, and my youngest is 15. They are like the translators I work with, they tell me what’s going on, what it’s about. But I love that character and I love working with Remedy.

Alan Wake 2 is going to be really good and it’s hard, it’s scary. Every time I see the things they do, I get amazed, it’s really cool.

Alan Wake 2 will be published by Epic Games as part of an exclusive deal with Remedy. As such, don’t count on it appearing on PC stores other than the Epic Games Store, such as Steam. However, it will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S| X.
