will Smith He might be back in action as soon as possible – it looks like a major project of his has been paused on track to see the light of day after all…that’s after a vigorous test scrutiny.
The beleaguered actor – who’s still trying to fix his image yet Oscar slap — He was present Saturday at the 51st Annual Legislative Conference of the Black Congress Foundation, hosted by the NAACP…with a large number of officials there as well.

WS was standing next to the exit Antoine Fuquawho was at the helm of their new movie, “Emancipation,” while explaining to the audience why he hated slave movies throughout his career…but noting that he didn’t really see that movie in that lens, per se.
Will says this movie is about perseverance and determination – and the absolute will to survive and be free. He also talked about the character he would portray, “Whipped Peter”, whose photos from the 19th century (showing scars on his back) went viral in her day.
As far as the actual movie itself…the word is, is incredible and very powerful – with a number of people touting its importance to African American culture, and America in general.
Stuff with all the hype surrounding “liberation” before it hits Chris Rock On national TV – there’s been a lot of talk about the Oscars, and judging by how people respond… it still seems to be – even though Will won’t be able to attend any ceremony.

As we all know… man blocked of attending the Academy Awards shows for 10 years. Assuming Apple releases this thing in the next decade – which they likely will – and WS is actually in conflict… someone else will have to get up there for any potential win.
There’s no word on when “Emancipation” will hit streaming services, but if they’re actually checking it out and getting solid feedback…something that tells us it could happen within the year.
