Germany rejects Russia’s plan to supply it with gas through the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline

Russia said on Wednesday it was ready to supply gas to Europe via the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which has not been affected by recent gas leaks.

The German government rejected Moscow’s offer, quoted AFP and EFE agencies as saying Agerpres.

Nord Stream

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline is not operational because sanctions imposed on Russia after its aggression against Ukraine prevented its operation, and Russian gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline were halted by Moscow in September under the pretext of technical problems.

Four gas leaks from two pipelines were reported last week, after which Washington and Moscow accused each other of sabotage.
