Hawkish rookie Desmond Ryder “light years” to most young QBs

Atlanta Falcons rookie quarterback Desmond Ryder surprised coach Arthur Smith with how easily he implemented an attacking scheme.

“Behind the scenes, the things he did, as a rookie, are really from the neck up,” Smith said Wednesday. Via the team’s official website. “How it works, when we walk the rookies, when we do these fixtures and on the field, and command it. It’s still early days in the process, but it’s a good start for Rider’s chances.
