Houston Astros World Championship 2022: Roadmap, road closures, landing sites and more for the Championship Parade in Downtown Houston

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – The Houston Astros have brought home the World Championship title, and now it’s time to party!

If you’re going downtown for a tournament show, you’ll need to know where you’re going. It is expected to be very crowded.

The 1.7-mile parade will begin at noon Monday on Preston Street and Smith Street, pass through the heart of downtown, passing City Hall, and continue all the way to Twin Street and Smith Street.

Smith, Louisiana and Bagby will all be closed due to the show’s track.

“The fans are supporting us. It was amazing to see this place explode,” Astros owner Jim Crane said, referring to Saturday’s win. Have a safe day and enjoy the tournament.

Expect a Houston police presence along the parade route. Houston fire officials will also be setting up medical staff in the area.

Officials are urging attendees to fill up with plenty of water due to the warm weather forecast on Monday. You can see the full Monday forecast here.

City officials are urging attendees to arrive early and take advantage of shared transit agencies, Houston Metro, or even carpools.

To help ease congestion in and around the city center, METRO flights are free all day on Mondays.

“Please take advantage of Metro Tomorrow,” Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said. “I ask everyone to be on their best behavior. Showcase the best of what this city is all about. It’s our turn to appreciate and celebrate.”

Rideshare sites:

  • Rust Square Memorial Park
  • Participate in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart

The rideshare locations are located several blocks from the parade route, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and plan to do some walking.

Regular bus routes and schedules in the downtown area will be changed. The afternoon valet parking and ride service will be delayed by at least an hour and will not start until 4pm

The service will be modified for the green and purple metro line. There will be no service between the EADO station and the theater district.
