The husband of an elementary school teacher who was killed in a shooting in Wolde, Texas, has died of a heart attack.
Family members told FOX 26 that Irma Garcia’s husband, Joe Garcia, died Thursday, two days after a gunman stormed a Rob elementary school in Wolverhampton Wife and killed his wife.
Garcia was one of two teachers with 19 students killed in the deadly massacre.
The couple, who have been married for 24 years, have four children.
Authorities have not yet released the motive for the shooting, but several questions have been raised, including the security measures put in place for the school after the massacre and who should be held accountable.
At a news conference Wednesday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the shooter, Salvador Ramos, shot his grandmother in the face and sent secret messages on the Internet just minutes before the attack, but “no known history. Mental health” and unidentified. Registration.
Shortly after the statements were made, the governor’s candidate, Beato O’Rourke, took the stage and rebuked the governor, saying he had “done nothing” in the case.
