Linda Iaccarino Thanks Musk for the Opportunity, Shares Her Excitement to ‘Build Twitter 2.0’

Twitter CEO Linda Iaccarino thanked Elon Musk on Saturday for her new role at the social media company, sharing her excitement about “building Twitter 2.0.”

Thank you @elonmusk! Your vision has always inspired me to create a brighter future, Yacarino chirp. “I’m excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!”

“I see I have some new followers,” she added in her post. “I’m not as prolific as @elonmusk (yet!), but I am totally committed to the future of this platform.”

“Your feedback is vital to that future. I’m here for all of it,” Iaccarino continued. “Let’s keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!”

Musk announced on Friday that Iaccarino will take over as CEO, while moving to a new position as CEO and Chief Technology Officer. The billionaire had previously promised in December that he would step down as CEO “as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job.”

“I am excited to welcome Belinda Iaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” he tweeted Friday. “LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I will focus on product design and new technology.”

He added, “We look forward to working with Linda to turn this platform into an X, everything app.”

Yaccarino was previously President of Global Corporate Advertising and Partnerships at NBCUniversal. I worked in a media company for more than 10 years.

NBCU announced in a statement On Friday that Yaccarino will leave effective immediately.

“It’s been an absolute honor to be a part of Comcast NBCUniversal and lead the most amazing team. We’ve transformed our company and the entire industry — and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m so grateful to my colleagues and mentors.”
