Free Subway sandwich? Yes please.
For the first time in its nearly 60-year history, Subway has dramatically changed its menu by shedding some of the independence of ingredients its customers love and expect.
But you’re in good hands: The company announced Tuesday that the culinary team has spent more than a year crafting 12 new signature sandwiches, the Subway series.
The fast food franchise will be giving away up to 1 million free Subway sandwiches on July 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. local time. Customers can visit Subway’s co-location through the slot and get a free 6-inch sandwich in the new batch.

You can order sandwiches by name or number: “I’ll take number 8” or “I’ll take the great garlic.” The Subway series includes four categories – cheesesteaks, Italiano, chicken and club – with three sandwiches in each category.
But those who like to choose their ingredients shouldn’t panic: you can still order the original, customizable sandwiches.
“The Subway series is the most ambitious project in company history, as we transform the nearly 60-year-old scheme that helped make Subway a global phenomenon,” Trevor Haynes, President of North America at Subway, said in a press release.
