The public memorial to Naomi Judd will be shown on CMT

Wynonna and Ashley Judd are working with CMT and Sandbox Live to honor their late mother Naomi Judd with a televised memorial.

Jude sisters Announced April 30 They lost their mother “due to mental illness”. She was 76 years old.

CMT announced Wednesday that in conjunction with the Judd family, a public memorial service will be broadcast on the network as a free special at 6 p.m. EST on Sunday.

The live celebration will take place at the former home of the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Hall in Nashville, Tennessee.

“We are very fortunate to work alongside Winona and Ashley to bring this vivid celebration of life to their mother, Naomi,” a statement about the event read. “As we all continue to grieve deeply at the loss of such a legendary artist, we are honored to celebrate her legacy alongside the country community, her friends, family and legions of fans around the world in the perfect setting: Mother Church of Country Music. This special performance will celebrate her timeless voice and timeless spirit. You are forgotten and the tremendous impact you have had on the genre through our best form of therapy – music.”

The performers and special appearances will be announced in the coming days.
