Tom Holland Takes A Break From Acting After ‘Break It’ Apple TV ‘The Crowded Room’

Tom Holland said he’s taking a break from acting after a particularly grueling role in the new Apple TV+ series, crowded room.

The 27-year-old actor, best known for playing Peter Parker in the popular Spider-Man movie franchise, stars in crowded room as Danny Sullivan, a man arrested for his involvement in a shooting in 1979.

He also serves as an executive producer on the 10-part series, which premieres on Apple TV+ this week.

Talking to ExtraTV About the gritty and psychologically dark project, Holland said the series prompted him to take a year off from acting.

“I loved the learning curve of becoming a producer,” Holland said. “I’m no stranger to hard work, I’ve always lived with the idea that hard work is good business. I really enjoyed it but then again, the show broke me.

“It came a time when I was kind of like, ‘I need a break. ‘ I’m gone. I went to Mexico for a week and spent some time at the beach and laying low. And now I’m taking a year off, which is a result of how hard this show is.”

At 36, Rossum is only nine years older than Holland, a discrepancy that hasn’t escaped fans’ notice. However, the actor stepped in to explain why the acting was “meaningful”.

Speaking about his plans to take a break from acting, Holland said, “I’ve done a little bit of traveling. I’ve had an amazing opportunity. I’ve been seeing my family, I’ve been seeing my friends. I’ve been playing golf. I’ve been going to the garden center and buying plants and doing everything I can to keep them alive. I’ve I was just trying to be a normal Kingston guy and just relax.”

Holland also recently gave Marvel fans a promising update on a possible return to the Spider-Man franchise.
