Ty Pennington, 57, is asking for more ‘grace’ as he steps into the spotlight after trolls called him ‘serious’ and ‘fat’ in a ridiculous shirtless video.
Ty Pennington asked HGTV for more “kindness” after cruel trolls commented on a shirtless video he posted last month that he called “grandfather” and “chubby”.
Bennington, 57, received unkind comments after posting a hilarious video of him dancing on the beach.
But in a lengthy message posted to his Instagram account on Wednesday, Bennington insisted that although he no longer has a six-pack, he’s never been happier.

“Thoughts about aging…. I recently posted a video of myself dancing on the beach wearing my shorts. What an honest moment just trying to make my wife laugh, picked up by strangers – with so many opinions, so much hate coming in!”
Comments like “disgusting”, “disgusting”, “oh my god, he’s so old now”, “grandfather”, “he’s getting fat” (by the way, I’m pushing my stomach out but it’s okay). And I wondered, if I was still young and healthy, would I get the same comments?
Pennington said he hopes men can benefit from the body positivity movement, in the same way that women can benefit.
“There was such a force behind the acceptance of all shapes and sizes and aging in female society which is wonderful. (Keep it up) But perhaps let’s give the same grace to men?”

Shake it! The video that Bennington was referring to was posted last month and showed him dancing shirtless on the beach with his swim trunks high up to his waist.
Bennington also insisted that he was working harder than ever in his life, although some commentators have speculated that he wasn’t exercising enough.
On a daily basis, I am overwhelmed with comments like “No, what happened to him??? !!! Someone even commented days ago, ‘Lack of exercise’ which I wish was the truth! I’ve never worked harder in my life – 7 days a week (that’s 50+ sh*t no joke).
Although he no longer has the same body or “glamorous head of hair” that he used to, Tai is happiest.
What Happened, It’s been 22 years since I started my TV debut! No, I don’t have a six pack anymore or a luscious head of hair (with frosted tips) but what I do have is wisdom, compassion, life lessons, and at 57, I haven’t really been happier!

The video clip that Ty was referring to showed the star hilariously dancing on the beach with his swim trunks up to his waist.
He captioned the video with a “Friday feeling.” He also added “the other half of this ‘video’ to everyone who asked me to pull up my pants!”
Although he’s faced criticism from ruthless trolls in the past month, Ty’s life has actually been on the upswing lately.
