“Zhaporoshie. Shooting is currently taking place in residential areas where ordinary people and children live. This should not become ‘another day’ in Ukraine or anywhere else in the world,” the Ukrainian president wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon.
Zaporizhia. At present, firing is being done on residential areas where civilians and children live.
It shouldn’t be “just another day” in 🇺🇦 or anywhere else in the world. The world needs greater unity and determination to quickly defeat Russian terrorism and save lives. pic.twitter.com/YnocW2yVaU— Volodymyr Zelenskyi (@ZelenskyyUa) March 22, 2023
“The world needs greater unity and determination to quickly defeat Russian terrorism and protect lives,” Zelensky added.
Ukrainian public station Suspilne reported hearing explosions in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in the last hours of Wednesday morning. Andrii Yermak, head of Zelenskiy’s chancellery, confirmed that the city of Zaporozhye had been hit again by Russian forces, saying several residential buildings had been damaged.
Russia launched a new massive airstrike against Ukraine early Wednesday, ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s departure from Moscow on a much-publicized official visit.
The new attack on Ukraine could be another “retaliatory move” after Ukrainian forces again attacked Crimea on Monday, during the first day of Xi’s visit to Russia.
Many Western analysts noted that the alleged attack was a fresh blow to Vladimir Putin’s image during a reception for the most important head of state to travel to Moscow since the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
