Although he was presented only in the fourth season of the program, Eddie made a strong impression on viewers. Fans expressed their grief on social media for his sacrifice for the fictional city of Hawkins.

Fans are particularly moved by the fact that the Hawkins residents have stalked Eddie throughout the season, believing him to be responsible for the Vicna murders.
