Russian authorities put Krivzova on a list of terrorists and extremists alongside ISIS, Al Qaeda and the Taliban after she posted an Instagram story about the Crimean bridge explosion in October in which she criticized Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

Krivsova, a student at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University in the northwestern city of Arkhangelsk, was accused of defaming the Russian military for posting a critical post about the war in a student chat on the Russian social network VK.

Krivsova is currently under house arrest at her mother’s apartment in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Region, banned from accessing the Internet and using other forms of communication.

“Olesia’s case is neither the first nor the last,” Krivsova’s lawyer, Alexei Kitchin, told CNN.

Kitchin said the girl faces three years in prison for defaming the Russian military, and up to seven years under the article justifying terrorism, according to CNN.
