Reece James to miss Qatar World Cup
The London club announced that the right-back will be out for at least eight weeks and will not play at the World Cup in Qatar (November 20 – December 18).
“James consulted a specialist this weekend and following discussions between all parties, Reese will undergo a treatment program and be unavailable for eight weeks.”Chelsea said in a press release.
England’s first World Cup match is against Iran on November 21. The right-back, a regular starter for the national team, will not be restored in time, even if he still believes.
“It’s a race against time…but we won’t give up”James responded in a message on Twitter.
England coach, Gareth Southgate, in the absence of Reece James, has Kyle Walker (Manchester City) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) as the best options to replace him.
Reece James, quoted by Transfermarkt at €60m, has 15 caps for England.
