Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was hospitalized on Saturday due to dehydration caused by the current heat wave in Israel. In a video clip released by his group, Netanyahu urged Israelis to be careful and stay properly hydrated during this time. He explained that he was at the beach, where he “sat in the sun with nothing on his head and no water to drink”. Politico reported.

“It’s not a good idea,” Benjamin Netanyahu said. “First of all thank you for your care and the excellent medical team at Sheba Medical Center where I was admitted. Thank God, I feel better, but I have a request for you – we are experiencing a heat wave across the country, so spend less time in the sun and drink more water,” he said. Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu, 73, was examined at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, near Tel Aviv.

Israeli media reported that Netanyahu was taken to hospital in a conscious state from his private home in Caesarea, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Keshet 12 television channel noted that the prime minister was not unconscious and did not need any procedures to transfer power. Netanyahu has also been hospitalized in recent years due to health problems.
