Drew Barrymore is unfazed by Hugh Grant’s outburst to offend all of Hollywood.
After making a few headlines for remarks he made at the 2023 Academy Awards, Grant poked fun at former co-star Barrymore’s singing during the ceremony. Wired interview alongside fellow “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez.
During the interview, Grant, 62, was answering “the most searched questions on the web” and was asked if he actually sang in the 2007 rom-com “Music and Lyrics.”
The British actor admitted that he does sing, but he’s “incredibly auto-tuned. Actually, it’s not true. I’m auto-tuned a little bit, but not as much.”
He went on to throw Barrymore, 48, who starred opposite him in the movie, under the bus, calling her singing skills “awful.”
“Drew Barrymore was with me in that movie and I don’t think she would mind if I said her singing was awful. I’ve heard dogs bark better than she sings,” Grant admitted.
He added, “But… once they tuned her in, she sounded better than me, because she’s got the heart and the voice and the rock ‘n’ roll. While I sounded like Julie Andrews and I was meant to be kind of rock ‘n’ roll too.”
Barrymore responded to Grant’s comments in the most informative way: Share a video She sings “The Way to Love” from “Music and Lyrics”.
She posted the video to Instagram with the caption, “#SingForHughGrant join me.”
After she finished singing into a hairbrush, she addressed Grant directly, saying, “Oh Hugh, Bert, Hubert, this is for you.”
Meanwhile, Grant went viral after the Oscars after a “rude” confrontation with ABC Oscars red carpet host Ashley Graham, 35.
The ‘Notting Hill’ actor was seen rolling his eyes at the end of the awkward interview, prompting him viewers To describe the star as a “full hole”.
He also made headlines after making a crude joke on stage while performing at the 95th Academy Awards alongside his “Four Weddings and a Funeral” co-star Andie MacDowell, in which he described himself as a “scrotum.”
On “The View” Thursday morning, Grant told co-host Whoopi Goldberg, 67, that he wrote the joke and was “very nervous” about it.
“I think I got away with it,” he said of the self-deprecating line.
