Daniel Craig debuts a new look for his role in the upcoming film Take out the knives 3and fans are divided.
In a tweet shared on Monday, director Rian Johnson provided the first behind-the-scenes look at Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc.
The black-and-white photo shows the 56-year-old British star with long hair, wearing a three-piece suit and holding a hat.
“Aaaaand we’re off! Today is the first day of filming for Benoit Blanc’s upcoming mystery movie The dead man woke up “See you on the other side,” Johnson wrote in the caption.
Many fans have since commented on the post, reacting with shock to Craig’s new appearance.
“His hair is such an icon,” one wrote, while another admitted that the “long-haired Blanc” looked “kinda weird, but I like it.”
“Oh my god his hairstyle,” a third said next to a crying emoji.
“Have a good shot!” Someone else commented. “And tell that young man to cut his hair.”
“There better be a good reason why Benoit has such long hair,” another wrote.
“Long hair and a fedora? ‘I smell an intro?'” one person thought, while others compared Craig’s changed appearance to Tom Cruise in the film Mission: Impossible Commercial franchise.
“The Knives Out movies will be like that Mission: Impossible “With Tom Cruise alternating between long and short hair,” one fan said. “I dig it.”
Another agreed: “I like that you’re going the ‘long hair vs short hair’ route to differentiate the parts like Tom Cruise in ‘long hair vs short hair’.” Mission: Impossible films.”
Last month, Johnson announced the long-awaited third installment in his popular film series, which has an official title Dead Man’s Wake: A Knives Mystery.

Craig, who played private investigator Benoit Blanc in the first two films Take out the knives Movies, Part 3 will feature a star-studded cast, including Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, United star josh o’connor, PriscillaCailee Spaeny, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis and Good luck to you, Leo Grande Actor Darrell McCormack.
The film, which is part of the director’s $450 million two-part deal with Netflix, is expected to be released on the streamer sometime in 2025.
the first Take out the knives The film debuted in 2019 and follows Blanc’s investigation into the murder of famous novelist Harlan Thrombey, played by the late Christopher Plummer. This film saw the outstanding performance of Ana de Armas in the role of nurse Marta Cabrera. Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Katherine Langford and Michael Shannon also appear.
Three years later, a sequel, Glass Onions: A Knives Mystery, issued. The film saw Blanc travel to the private Greek island of tech billionaire Miles Bronn (Edward Norton), where he is tasked with solving a murder mystery game gone wrong.
Along with Craig, the film included a new cast of stars such as Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, Madeleine Cline, Dave Bautista, and Kathryn Hahn.
