March Madness on Friday calmed down a bit with higher seeds mostly concerned with business. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Miami Hurricanes and Iowa State Cyclones were the only double-digit seeded teams to advance to the NCAA 2022 tournament on the second day of the tournament. Meanwhile, the Auburn Tigers, the Villanova Wildcats, and the Purdue Boilermakers all have big wins.
Heading into the round of 32 on Saturday, our two biggest Cinderellas will be looking to keep their dreams of the championship alive. Peter, who upset second-seeded Kentucky in the first round, faces Murray State. The winners of the 12-5 groups, Richmond and New Mexico State, face Providence and Arkansas, respectively.

Baylor is not over yet. They’re in a 20-4 run in Texas, during which the Tar Heels spin the ball seven times, cutting UNC’s lead to number one. This feels like it’s going down the wire.

RJ Davis continues to dominate – he’s got 17 in half – and Baylor is in real trouble in his Round of 32 match against UNC. Tar heel 42-29 in the first half. This is the most points Baylor has allowed in the first half in the past three seasons. The last time Baylor overcame a double-digit first-half deficit to win was in 2019, against Texas.

Tar heel guard RJ Davis missed his first shot in game #8 UNC against #1 Baylor, but then managed a 3-pointer and 2-long shot in quick succession. He earned North Carolina’s first eight points while trying to pull off the upset—after scoring a combined nine points in his first two NCAA games at UNC.
