Following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement last week that Moscow plans to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, a public petition appeared on the website of the President’s Office on Thursday calling for Ukraine to host nuclear weapons on its soil or arm itself with its own nuclear weapons.
As of Saturday afternoon, the petition had 611 signatures, short of the 25,000 required for Zelensky’s response. Officials in Kiev have yet to comment on the petition.
