One Stab at San Francisco BART Station – NBC Bay Area

Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred at a BART station in San Francisco on Wednesday, officials said.

The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. at the Civic Center BART station in downtown San Francisco. The incident caused BART to shut down the station for about an hour.

San Francisco police told NBC Bay Area that someone was stabbed. No other details were released.

BART’s spokeswoman, Anna Duckworth, said BART police are still investigating and reviewing the video surveillance footage.

The transit agency sent out an alert about the closed station around 6pm and said trains were running through the Civic Center and not stopping.

As of 7:05 p.m., BART was recovering and normal service had resumed. Officials said there was a significant system-wide delay due to police activity.
