Jansen Panettiere’s family, including his sister Hayden, are remembering the late actor a week after he died suddenly at the age of 28.
“Jansen’s heart can be seen in his eyes, his charm in his radiant, alluring smile; his soul in his witty and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit,” his family, including his mother Leslie Fogel, father, and sister, Skip Panettiere and her sister, “Scream VI” star Hayden Panettiere, said in a statement. The family also said in its statement that Jansen died of an enlarged heart.
“Although it offered little comfort, the medical examiner stated that Janssen’s sudden death was due to cardiomegaly (an enlarged heart), along with aortic valve complications,” the family said.
Panettiere is best known for his voice acting roles in “Ice Age: The Meltdown” and “The X’s” as well as his onscreen roles in the Nickelodeon movie “The Last Day of Summer” and the AMC series “The Walking Dead”.
“We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love and support for our family as we overcome this unimaginable loss, and we ask that we be given our privacy during this mourning period,” the family said. “We love you very much, Jansen, and you will remain in our hearts forever.”

Panettiere subsequently appeared in several TV shows alongside his sister in the 2004 Disney Channel movie “Tiger Cruise”.
His most recent television role was in an episode of The Walking Dead in 2019, when he portrayed Casper, a member of the Hilltop Colony.
