The crows have become much larger up front.
With the 110th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Ravens chose to tackle Minnesota offensive tackle Daniel Valle, who was 6-foot-8 and weighed 384 pounds at the Scouting Combine.
Valle is now the heaviest player in the NFL. This distinction previously went to the Patriots’ offensive tackle Trent Brownregistered for 380 pounds, but he has Big financial incentives In his new contract he has to weigh less, because he gets bonuses every week in which he weighs 365 or less.
Born and raised in Australia, Valle played basketball and rugby in his youth, until an American soccer coach discovered him and told him he could have a very lucrative career ahead if he tried soccer. Faalele went to IMG Academy in Florida, played for one year in high school football, then committed to playing for Minnesota, where he served as an All-Big Ten offensive tackle.
In his last college game, Valle lined up to run back and ran for the touchdown. It’s probably safe to say he wouldn’t do it in the NFL, but the Ravens think he could be a team-maker as a running blocker.
