Roxanne Perez retains her title, and former Dana Brooke returns to WWE NXT at Battleground

Roxanne Perez fended off a minor meta-invasion to retain the NXT Women’s Championship over TNA Knockouts Champion Jordin Grace at Battleground. The match saw interference, as Tatum Paxley entered the UFC Apex and attempted to escape the TNA Knockouts Championship, sparking a surprise appearance from current TNA and former WWE star Ash by Elegance – =fka Dana Brooke – during their title feud.

This would be the deciding factor in a balanced contest that could easily have gone either way. Grace relented on her attack on Perez as she beat down Baxley and Elegance on the outside, then went back to abusing Perez in the ring before Perez hit a big counter followed by a bob rocks to score the winning pinfall. With this win, Perez continues her streak more than 65 days after first capturing the title from Lira Valkyria at Stand & Deliver. Grace will return to TNA empty-handed, but she may have invited a future challenge for her title from Baxley or Perez again as she crosses the barred door on Sunday night.
