A 43-year-old woman from France fell to her death on the tracks while leaving the station to drive her partner to the station.
The tragedy happened on Saturday at Thun le Paradis station in Meulan-en-Yvelines. The 43-year-old woman was trapped under the wheels of a train bound for Paris. The lifeless body was found hours later by an employee near the railway.
He immediately alerted the authorities, and several emergency services and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
“Her body was cut into several pieces,” a source close to the investigation said, according to the report leparisien.fr.
Following the tragedy, train services on the J route were halted for nearly two hours.
Police were able to quickly identify the victim.
“She had the documents,” a source close to the investigation also said.
The woman would be stuck at the back of the train with his partner who had said goodbye.
“The mechanic didn’t feel anything,” said sources in the investigation.
According to investigators, the hypotheses that the victim was pushed on the road or wanted to commit suicide have been ruled out. The woman’s body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Carches (Hauts-de-Seine) for an autopsy.
