The foldable Google Pixel will have a 5.8 inch external screen

Google’s foldable Pixel phone will have a smaller external display and an internal display similar to the size of the Galaxy Z Fold4, according to insider Ross Young. The Pixel Notepad, rumors claim, will have a 5.8-inch external display, which is wider and shorter than the expected 6.19-inch Galaxy Z Fold4.

Since the two foldables are rumored to have similarly sized foldable screens, this means that the Pixel Notepad will have a larger aspect ratio than the fold. This was confirmed by a previous leak.

Young isn’t sharing when we can expect Google’s first foldable version, but there’s a reasonable guess about the Pixel 7’s launch in the fall. It was widely expected that Google’s first foldable version would be sometime in 2021 before Google was said to be ending it.

But now the Pixel Fold, now called Notepad, appears to be working again. It’s expected to cost $1,400, and you’ve got a Find N-esque body type — wide and short, rather than the narrow and tall Galaxy Z Fold3 lie. It will likely use a Tensor chip but resort to older Pixel camera hardware, a 12.2MP IMX363 sensor from the Pixel 2 to 3, 4 and 5 series, a 12MP IMX386 ultra-widespread sensor, and two 8MP IMX355s for selfies.

The indoor selfie can use a complex masking mechanism, like the one shown below, from a patent that Google has won.
