New report from Michael Scotto from HoopsHype He points out that the Lakers are not taking the moment seriously. According to Scotto, Los Angeles discuss Huge trade with New York and Utah would radically revamp the Lakers roster.
Good front offices are constantly making calls and exchanging ideas. As Scotto pointed out, this proposal made a few weeks ago, and Los Angeles, New York, and Utah are all weighing their own choices in a number of opportunities. However, let’s dive into this interesting trade rumor.
according to Scott, the proposal in question would send Russell Westbrook to Utah. From there, the previous MVP contract will be purchased. Jazz will also receive a “significant” venture capital.
Donovan Mitchell was going down with the Knicks in this scenario, and it’s one of the many proposals and rumors that send Mitchell to New York. Utah also replaced two of the following players to the Lakers: Patrick Beverly, Jordan Clarkson and Bojan Bogdanovich, or Malik Paisley.
The above would also require the Knicks to cut some salary either in this move or in a separate deal to absorb Mitchell’s $30.4 million contract. Sending in players like Derrick Rose or Evan Fournier might help make that possible.

As Scotto reported, trading Russell Westbrook in such a move would likely cause Los Angeles to surrender both its 2027 first-round pick and 2029 first-round pick. Utah is facing similar difficulties trying to move veteran points guard Mike Conley.
It’s interesting that the Lakers are facilitating a huge trade rather than serving as a focal point. Perhaps Los Angeles is trying to make minor adjustments rather than swinging the fences.
