Popular Twitch streamer xQc is leaving the platform for a lucrative new deal with a competitor, marking the largest exodus yet from the Amazon-owned site.
the The New York Times reported Felix Lengyel, the Canadian known online as xQc, has signed a two-year contract worth approximately $70 million. According to his agent, Ryan Morrison, the incentives could be as much as $100 million.
“It’s more than most professional athletes and big stars,” Morrison said. “This is one of the highest-grossing deals in entertainment, period.”
Lengyel, 27, broadcasts himself playing video games, maintaining a running conversation with fans. He also hosts reality shows that are broadcast live to his nearly 12 million followers. It is considered by many to be the most popular streamer on Twitch.
“Kick allows me to try to do things I’ve never been able to do before,” Lengyel said in a statement. “I am very excited to take this opportunity and maximize it in new creative and fresh ideas over the coming years.”
Twitch has been losing content creators who don’t like its policies and revenue cuts. Twitch has modified a file politics this week It changed the type of ads that streamers can run during broadcasts.
