The 22-year-old American artist told the BBC podcast, “My beauty queen?” She said she was exposed to “crazy shade” last year, adding: “It was crazy.”

Ghosting – for the uninitiated – is when a friend or romantic prospect suddenly cuts off all communications with you, without any explanation.

The What Was I Made For singer also said she struggled to maintain her friendships when she first found fame.

Eilish was just 14 years old when she unveiled her debut single, Ocean Eyes. Since then, she has achieved global stardom, earning numerous awards along the way.

Speaking to Lily Allen and Mykita Oliver, Eilish said: “I was definitely ghosted.”

She said that the incident occurred last December, adding that it was “unbelievable in the literal sense of the word. Even to this day.” [he] “She never texted me again.”

“I wondered, ‘Did I die? Did I literally die?'” she said.

“It was someone I’d also known for years and he had a plan. That day, he was on the phone, making a plan, here’s my address, and I’d be there at 3 p.m. — and I never heard from him again. I couldn’t believe it.”

Eilish said she later saw that he was dating someone else.

“And I was like, ‘Oh.’ But I didn’t know people still did that. I really didn’t know people did that.”

But Eilish said stardom made it difficult for her to have friends.

“Well, I lost all my friends when I became famous,” she said.

“Suddenly I was famous and I couldn’t connect with anyone. It was hard. It was really hard.”

Eilish said her best friend Zoe stayed by her side. But her only other friends were her employees.

“And then it was my 20th birthday and I remember looking around the room and there were only the people I employ. They were all 15 or so years older than me.”

She said one of those employees then suddenly resigned and stopped speaking to her.

“That was the worst thing that ever happened to me,” she said. “And that made me realize that this is a job.” “If they leave me they will never see me again.”

Since then, Eilish said, she has found it difficult to be friendly with the people she works with, “because I’m so afraid of loss and I have a lot of abandonment issues.”

But she added that she worked hard to make new friends and revive old ones.

She said that when she recently went with them to a concert at Coachella, she burst into tears.

The singer added that Allen Smile’s song inspired her to make new friends.

In the 2006 song Allen sang: “But with a little help from my friends/I finally found the light in the tunnel.”

“I wanted to cry when I heard that line because I didn’t feel that way, because I didn’t have friends,” Eilish said.

“And I remember thinking, I want to feel this way. And I want to listen to this song that I relate to in every way and hear this line about friends and say, ‘My friends made it.’
